Delft-FEWS is an incredibly versatile program used for flood forecasting, drought monitoring, reservoir management, real-time operations, hydrological data validation and much more. Due to its modular set-up, the program can be used for a wide range of data sources and models, it can be completely configured towards your specific region, data, and personal needs. However, there are probably many Delft-FEWS features that you have never heard of but that can be very useful for your application. 

In this online advanced course, you will learn about these new features through a basic Delft-FEWS application with the 2022.01 Delft-FEWS release. After the training you copy the configured features and customize it for your organization needs. The course will take place 17th of October 2023 and it will be completely online, with live lectures of a Delft-FEWS expert from Deltares. 

Some of the topics that will be covered in this advanced training course:

• Nice configuration improvements for some of the Delft-FEWS GUI components that you probably did not know they exist.
• Linking a GIS to the Delft-FEWS WMS and WFC Services: we will use QGIS in the exercises
• Peak preview of the Delft-FEWS Web-OC

Online format

This course will be held via MS Teams for which you will receive a course-link.

In preparation of the training, we’ll send you all the material and will ask you to install the stand alone Delft-FEWS application (Delft-FEWS 2022.01) on your own machine. While attending the training, it will be essential that you have a sufficiently fast internet connection to support a video call, as well as a headset.
